
IF a person can learn to eat for fuel, and not just to eat, this would change their life! Eating six meals a day, meaning three healthy meals and three great snacks in-between would introduce you to a life changing style that would effect the rest of your life. These meals would be in portion size meals. The reason we do all this is simple, I'll explain.Think of your body as like a furnace!
Something that gives off energy. In order for it to work properly, it needs fuel. At the right time and at the right portions. This is why it works properly and consistent. Now, there are different types of fuel. Gas, kerosene, oil and others. They all burn differently! Some are cleaner then the others. Some leave film or a crust like base in the furnace and on the components of the furnace. Having it break down and stop working all together. In some cases you can fix it. In others you may not. So, I would say it would be wise to think about what you have and use!
In saying this, I want to explain how our body is a lot like this furnace. In order to have it work properly, it needs the right amount of fuel throughout the day at the right given moment. Not to much, but just enough to keep it working properly and sufficiently! I want to explain all this so you can understand why a person should eat for fuel.I would think that if you made it to this page and are reading this right now you have a TRUE DESIRE to make the changes you need to get to where you want to be physically! My wife Elizabeth and myself want to work with you, even if it is just through this website and emails. We want to help plus answer your question!
Now to make it easier to understand, I won't use a lot of words that may confuse you. I'll make it simple, just to be fair to everyone. This way everybody can learn and use this website to it's fullness! As you choose which way your going to workout daily,use this as a guild to help you.
Remember I said you should eat six meals a day! This is why! As you start your NEW journey in life. A quest for a better, healthier,stronger you. You'll find out you will be burning off a lot of calories and UNWANTED FAT! What we eat, and when we eat will help us burn off the unwanted calories and fat, Plus help put back the right nutrition we need to recuperate & heal our bodies.
It's important that we eat throughout the day! WHY? Simply put, if you was to eat just two meals a day, one in the morning and one at the evening, your body would always have itself on what I call a starving mode! Meaning, when you did eat your body would store this as unwanted sugar and fat!
By eating in portions throughout the day we can give our bodies what it needs. The energy! The right protein and carbs will help us achieve our goal. NOW, how much we eat is as much of an importance! While fixing your meals for the day, you want to be sure to fix in portion size meals! Meaning that, what ever you fix yourself should be in a portion size! EXAMPLE! A portion size is the size of YOUR closed fist, or the size of the palm of your hand! ( So a meal may look something like this, Brown rice, a choice of beef, chicken, or fish, and a vegetable!) Another good rule would be, just eat till your content and not full! Don't over do it. Meaning, don't over eat!
Eating healthy snacks in-between our meals will also keep us energized and maintained! Keep us from feeling hungry! Plus this is a good place to help make sure we have enough fiber in us! Snacks can look like this, (Fruit, protein bar, granola bar, Protein shake, all these will be good to do!) Just don't do all at once! You can have a fruit & a bar together just don't over do it! I think you understand what I'm saying.
Now about fluids! This may be hard for some to do. Never the less, it is also very important to drink lots of water throughout the day! When I say water, I didn't mean SODA, COFFEE, JUICE or anything else that may have water in it! I meant WATER! Water make up the bulk of your body, (about 2/3 ) and determines the nature of nearly every physiological process.This will help give the body back all the water it needs to keep functional as well as to keep flushing your body! You may run back and forth to the bathroom for about the first week or so, but that will slow down and cease. I can't tell you enough of the importents of drinking water. Here is a good way of knowing how much to drink. If you was 160lbs, cut that in half which is 80. The 80 stands for 80oz's of water you need to be drinking per day. In other words, If you was 200lbs you should be drinking 100oz's of water a day. I know this seems like a lot, but this is what your body calls for. If your not use to drinking water start with three or four glasses of 8oz's a day and work your way up to the amount you should be drinking! Drinking 5 glasses of water per day cuts risk of heart disease by 50%
In most individuals, approximately 60% of the their total weight is water. This percentage varies between 50% and 70%, with the exact value primarily dependent on a person's fat content. Since fat has very low water, individuals with more fat will have a lower overall percentage of body weight as water.
